Biography
Her aunt introduced Sarah to her passion when she was five. Every
day they would ride the bus together to camp, where her aunt taught
arts and crafts.
Sarah spent the summer days immersed in the smell of clay, staring
into the vats of mucky earth, forming the cool, squishy lumps
into bunny rabbits and other woodland creatures. She followed
her interest in art until her early twenties, when she became
very disillusioned and lost.
Thinking her path led North, she moved to Pennsylvania, where
she spent time watching other people enjoy their passions make
art and freezing in the arctic climate. After much wandering,
she realized that she was indeed lost and decided to return to
the South, where she spent her formative years. When she finally
collected her thoughts, she began to record the story of her journey.
Described as being “no slouch in the draftsmanship department”
by a noted local art critic, Sarah’s work has been shown
in numerous spaces around Atlanta, including Lowe Gallery, the
MOCA-GA, and the Spruill Gallery. She has also won several awards
for her paintings and prints. Sarah currently lives in Marietta,
GA, the town of her girlhood, with her husband, stepson and extended
family of two cats and a dog.
